"Dropped"
Interesting...
Depends on how you want to see it.
Richie (Exec at Spy Entertainment) and I are friends. Spy Films (commercial division who owns Spy Entertainment), and I had some different opinions about some things. Those opinions led to situations that could have potentially harmed the work.
It's pointles (and harmful) to get into the details of that situation, but, I think it's fair to say that the concerns were big enough to merit a few "serious discussions".
We agreed that it was time to move on.
It was not easy for Richie , or I to go through all that, but ultimately, it's been a good, healthy move.
I was super busy at Spy Entertainment (music video division), and we kept each other busy for the duration of my tenure there.
Richie worked hard, stayed honest, and always tried his best, which is, I think, all any director could hope to expect from a production company exec.
Though we're not working together, I've still got nothing but respect and good memories from my dealings with Richie.
Regarding directors moving to and from companies - I think that sometimes business partnerships / relationships evolve, and it can be nothing but good for all parties to be able to recognize when that happens, and when it's time to move on.
I'd like to think it's just as important (if not moreso) to try to operate on a plane of mutual respect, dignity, truth and maturity, and to keep focused on things like improving our work and staying positive, rather than using gossip-y sounding words like "dropped"
Ew.
